Forest Resources
Woodlands manages more than half a million acres of forests, with a goal of maximizing land and timber value to produce high-quality timber products, enhance wildlife habitat, and maximize other uses.
This group comprises operations from across the forestry industry, including Forest Research, Silviculture, Woodlands, and Operations Projects.
At the pine seedling nursery, the growing cycle begins, where science and nature come together to cultivate healthier forests. Each year, Westervelt grows millions of pine seedlings, with seeds harvested from the nearby orchard. Customers interested in planting their own forests can purchase quality seedlings from Westervelt.
Since the first hunt in 1951, the Westervelt hunting lodge has established a reputation for providing exceptional outdoor experiences. Westervelt Lodge offers the features of a traditional free-range hunting experience.
Westervelt timberlands provide a bit of everything for outdoor sports enthusiasts, from big and small game hunting, to waterfowl and wing shooting, to freshwater fishing. Escape the everyday routine and stress by spending the day from dawn until dusk in some of the South's most beautiful and bountiful woodlands.
Westervelt Wildlife Services offers wildlife and hunting habitat management guidance based on each landowner's specific goals, as well as consultation about a forest management plan.
Westervelt Wildlife Services also offers hunting land leases and hunting clubs throughout the Southeast. We manage more than 600,000 acres of hunting leases and clubs in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia.
