A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Joe Patton attended the University of Alabama.
He has over 40 years of experience in the wood products field, holding various positions for companies such as Stringfellow Lumber Company, International Paper, and Newton Lumber.
He joined Westervelt Lumber in 1998 as Sales Associate, and was promoted to Sales Manager in 2001.
Joe was named to his current position as Vice President of Wood Products in 2005, where his responsibilities include oversight for all sales teams, external marketing, and new business development.
He is married and has four children, including twin girls, and is a deacon of First Presbyterian Church.
A current member of the board of directors for the Wood Products Council, which oversees WoodWorks, a program that provides education, resources and technical support related to the design of the non-residential and multi-family wood buildings, Patton also served as 2011 Chairman of the American Wood Council board of directors, 2011 Chairman of the Southern Forest Products Association board of directors, is a past member of the board of directors for the Alabama Forestry Association, a member of the West Alabama Workforce Development Council, and has been involved with Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity.
