A native of Greensboro, Alabama, Jim received his bachelor's degree in forest management from Auburn University. Prior to joining The Westervelt Company, he served as forester for Hammermill Paper Company in Greensboro.
Jim joined the Company in 1981 as an Area Forester for the Natural Resources Division and in 1983, he was promoted to Timber Managers Forester. He has held several positions within the division such as Strategic Planning and Business Development Manager.
In 2001, he was named Natural Resources Director, and in 2003, he was promoted to his current position as Vice President and Business Leader for Natural Resources. His role encompasses strategic leadership and responsibility for Land and Minerals, Timber Management, Timber Marketing, Recreation and Real Estate.
