A native of Brent, Alabama, Gary received his bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama, and received his CPA certificate while working for Ernst & Young.
He has over 30 years of experience in financial accounting in the areas of: public accounting, construction, and manufacturing.
Gary began his career with The Westervelt Company in 1982 as a plant accountant for the Pulp and Paperboard Division in Demopolis, Alabama. In 1996 he became Division Controller, then moved to Tuscaloosa in 1999 to assume the duties of Treasurer for the corporation. He was named Controller in 2001, where his duties included risk management and financial reporting.
He was named Chief Financial Officer in 2007.
Gary currently serves on the board for Junior Achievement, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
