POSITION: Forest Ranger                                            

DIVISION: Forest Resources                                        

LOCATION: Sipsey District

POSITION PROFILE:

This position supports the activities of the harvest scheduling group in performing clearcut and thin setups, GPS, setup maps, land acquisition support, hardwood marking and harvest actuals.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Associate degree in forestry desirable or high school diploma with a minimum of three years’ experience in forestry-related work.
  2. Good computer skills and ability to work with handheld computer devices, GPS equipment and cruise systems.  Experience with ArcMap, WTS and Microsoft Office preferred.
  3. Ability to perform strenuous work in a variety of environmental conditions.
  4. Good written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with employees and contractors.

The qualifications of individuals applying for this position will be compared to the above criteria. Only those having qualifications that meet the selection criteria may be interviewed for the position.
